The Steamboat Ski Touring Center offers groomed cross country ski and snowshoe trails, winding through the aspen groves and along beautiful Fish Creek.

The cross country ski trails welcome all ability levels, novice to advanced. The trails are groomed for both classic and skate skiing.

The Lake Catamount Touring Center is part of a private real estate development, Catamount Ranch and Club. The nordic trails are situated along Lake Catamount itself with many more miles rolling up and down through gentle hay meadows. Wide open views of Pleasant Valley and the surrounding area abound. Rolling terrain in a panoracmic setting with views of Mt. Wenrer and Emerald Mountain. Perfect for beginners and a fun area to work on speed technique for more advanced skiers.  Enjoy the best classic skiing in the valley! Lovely clubhouse to hang out in.  Full menu lunch can be added to your trail ticket.

We allow dogs on our dog trails on Monday, Thursday and Sunday!


The Steamboat Lake State Park Touring Center is located at over 8000 feet of elevation and offers some of the best early and late season snow in the area. Located within the boundaries of the park the touring center is nestled between Hahn's Peak and Sand Mountain just 40
minutes North of Steamboat Springs.

Latigo is scenic and secluded. Seven miles up Red Dirt Road brings you to our quiet setting amid the pine and aspen forests at 9000ft elevation. Nordic Skiing Paradise. When you book your cross country ski vacation at The Home Ranch, you can walk out the front door anywhere on our property, smile at the mountains, and start skiing. Ski out of your front door onto our 25 km of diverse terrain and perfectly groomed tracks, or head out into the million-acre backcountry of the Routt National Forest with your own ski guide.

This trail is maintained by volunteers of Routt County and the Steamboat Springs Nordic Council. The Grooming will start when there is enough snow on the trails. The trails are open through winter but grooming will stop Early December.  We stop grooming when the Steamboat Ski Touring Center has sufficient snow to groom.
